POSTPONED: Principal Selection Information Meeting

As we say goodbye and good luck to Ms. Bumbrey beginning her new position at Virginia Run ES, we welcome Mr. Dave Gerstner as our interim principal.

New Principal Selection Process Meeting

  • We will begin the search for our next principal in the coming weeks. An important step in this procedure is to inform parents about the principal selection process. Therefore, all parents/community members are invited to attend an important meeting.  We certainly hope you will be able to attend this meeting.

  • Due to the potential for inclement weather, the county has cancelled all activities after school and this evening. As a result, we are postponing the Fairfax Villa Principal Selection Process Meeting scheduled for this afternoon. We apologize for any inconvenience but believe the safety of our community is of the utmost importance. The rescheduled meeting date and time will be released in the coming days.

Input Suggestions to FCPS Central Office

  • Fairfax County Public Schools mission is to provide creative, knowledgeable, and talented leadership to ensure student success.  To determine the best match for the leadership needs at your school, parent and staff perspectives will be used to screen candidate resumes and develop interview questions.  Please provide input detailing the skills, experiences, and leadership characteristics needed at your school.  Include challenges and issues that the new principal will need to address.  Principal professional skills include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources, organizational management, and communication and community relations.
